New Agent FAQ
Time to Get Down to Business
The questions agents ask before contracting with Topflight, answered straight: compensation, book ownership, technology, leads, remote work, releases, training, contracting time, carriers, certification and chargebacks.
As agents start to engage with us, a handful of questions keep coming up. We've answered the most common ones here, so we can spend our appointment on you, not on the basics.

We're an FMO, which means we can bring on street-level agents as well as full downlines.
Street level means exactly that: for Medicare Advantage, you get what carriers pay street-level agents. Most of our street-level contracts are paid directly by the carrier. We only pay on behalf of a carrier when their system makes that the easier route, and we'd rather not, because it's an added expense to us. We don't take a cut of your commissions.
For Medicare Supplement and ancillary carriers, we pay a competitive level based on your proof of production.
We can also offer downline contracts. Keep in mind that overrides, the commissions paid to uplines, come with the expectation that you can train and support the agents under you. That path isn't right for everyone. Plenty of our agents do better producing for themselves without running a downline, and there's never any expectation that you build one.
Yes, from day one.
Agents are increasingly concerned about vesting schedules, or whether they own their book at all. Some uplines hold onto their downlines' books, or require agents to stay on for a set period before the book is theirs. The real question behind all of it is simple: who owns your production?
At Topflight, you do. There are no contract length requirements either.
Every agent gets access to Sunfire and CSG for Medicare quoting.
You also get our proprietary CRM. It's built to be straightforward rather than clever, a true CRM, so you don't have to memorise client names or keep a second system just to navigate your book. You can export your book at any time, and the CRM pushes your clients, drugs, and providers straight into Sunfire so you're not re-entering anything.
We're not a lead vendor. What we will do is point you toward reputable vendors and give you straight guidance on generating your own.
We're known for helping agents get the most out of their local markets and build a strong referral base.
No, pick your own adventure.
We have experience in both telephonic and face-to-face sales, and we can help you build whichever kind of business you actually want. We also help agents build hybrid approaches: earning trust with clients or referral partners in person, then closing over the phone.
Topflight has an open release policy. There are no contract length requirements.
As long as your request falls inside the release window, January 2 through August 31, and you don't have outstanding obligations, we'll process it. It's rare that an agent has anything outstanding. Certain kinds of support do affect eligibility, including recent marketing or event investment.
We don't believe in trying to hold agents that don't want to stay with us.

Group training. Most agents don't yet know which questions to ask, and group training is the best cure for that. Most Monday mornings we run a researched, planned training topic as a webinar. Fridays are looser, open Q&A with agents. Past sessions are recorded and available to you.
Technology and systems training. Our onboarding is automated and includes pre-recorded training on our tech, with tips and tricks throughout. You'll get far more out of your time with a trainer if you've worked through the recordings first.
One-on-one advice. We run an agency Facebook Messenger group where experienced agents and Topflight leaders answer questions. You also get one-on-one time with your immediate upline, focused on practical advice for growing your agency from where it actually is. That time is focused where we can add the most value, so availability can vary with how actively an agency is producing.
Frequently asked
More questions agents ask
How long does carrier contracting take?
Most Medicare Advantage and supplemental carriers are requested through your Spark account. Adding a state to a Medicare Advantage carrier takes a minimum of 3 days and can take up to a week; Medicare Supplement and ancillary timelines depend on the carrier and state.
Which carriers can I get through Topflight?
The 2027 override schedule lists 46 Medicare Advantage carriers. Supplemental, final expense, dental and term life carriers run through Spark, Pinnacle, Premier or Topflight directly; the Support Hub’s upline directory shows which upline handles each carrier and product line.
Do I need AHIP, and where do I get it?
Yes for Medicare Advantage and Part D. Carriers require the AHIP (or an accepted equivalent) certification every plan year before you can sell. Topflight agents use the discounted AHIP link on the Agent Toolkit; carrier-specific modules follow in each carrier portal.
Do you require errors and omissions insurance?
Carriers require E&O coverage to appoint you. The Agent Toolkit links Next Insurance for a quick online quote with referral pricing for Topflight agents.
What is a chargeback?
When a Medicare Advantage or Part D client disenrolls within the first three months, CMS rules require the carrier to recover the commission it paid, which shows up as a chargeback on a later statement. The Support Hub’s missing-commission steps cover how to dispute one.
What happens to my renewals if I leave Topflight?
Your carrier contracts and your clients are yours. Renewals follow the carrier contract, and the release policy explains how to move those contracts to a new upline inside the January 2 to August 31 window.
How does co-op work?
Co-op reimbursements are paid on eligible carriers when the weekly submission and compliance requirements are met. Sign the rewards agreement, read the rewards guide and log production in the tracker every week.
What technology do I get on day one?
Sunfire and CSG for Medicare quoting, the Topflight CRM (your book exports any time and pushes clients, drugs and providers into Sunfire), and access to Atomic Automations.
When is live training?
Most Monday mornings there is a researched, planned training webinar. Fridays are open Q&A with agents. Past sessions are recorded inside Topflight University.
Are PDP overrides paid in 2027?
Topflight is not aware of any carrier paying PDP overrides or PDP street-level commissions for 2027. Referral fees remain $100 for Medicare Advantage and $25 for PDP.
